Length is measured with standard units such as metre, centimetre and millimetre. When using a ruler, the zero mark should be aligned correctly and the scale viewed at eye level. Motion means change in position with time. Speed describes how fast an object moves and can be calculated as distance divided by time; for example, 100 m in 20 s gives 5 m/s.
