Poorvi is organised into five thematic units: Fables and Folk Tales; Friendship; Nurturing Nature; Sports and Wellness; Culture and Tradition. Students should not study English as a chapter-memory subject. Give equal attention to comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, speaking and writing.

Malhar is the current NCERT Class 6 Hindi textbook. Focus on पाठ-बोध, शब्द-भंडार, व्याकरण, लेखन, पाठ के भाव और प्रश्नों के उत्तर. Students should practise writing answers independently instead of copying textbook sentences.
Class 6 Marks Weightage: What You Should Know
There is no official CBSE chapter-wise marks weightage for Class 6 that should be presented as a national fixed blueprint. Class 6 is not a board examination class, and schools may use their own periodic tests, term examinations, projects, activities and internal assessment structure.
Therefore, TeachGyan will not invent a “Chapter 1 = 5 marks” type table and label it as CBSE official. Instead, this page uses a study-priority system. When a school releases its own examination blueprint, students should use that blueprint alongside the NCERT syllabus.
How to Prepare for Class 6 Exams
- Read the NCERT chapter first. Do not begin with guidebooks.
- Make one-page revision notes. Write definitions, examples, diagrams and key ideas.
- Practise textbook questions. They help check whether you understood the chapter.
- Practise application questions. Explain concepts using new examples.
- Revise weekly. Do not wait for the annual examination.
